Beryl Walden was born in Stoneleigh to parents John Thomas Walden & Hannah Helena Constance (nee Field) on 13 June 1924, the third of five children. In September 1939 she was living with her parents, three sisters and brother at 4, The Bank, Stoneleigh. Her occupation was dressmaker's apprentice and her father was a fitter/mechanic at a car factory. He had served an apprenticeship with Edward Langley Fardon.
She married William Charles Waite, who was chauffeur to Lord Leigh, in Stoneleigh on 1 October 1949; their daughter Julie was born in 1954 and their son William was born in 1956. She died tragically on 8 September 1969 at the age of 45.
