Mary Clark
The third tombstone in a row commemorating the lives of the Clark family, is to
Mary. She was baptised at Arley on 1768. Her parents,
Thomas Clark (
D 6.4) and
Mary nee Hardin (
D 6.5) , may have moved from that area to farm at Stivichall Grange by the time of Mary's birth, but returned to Arley for her baptism.
Sadly Mary was only "in the 20th year of her age" when she died. Her tombstone gives the date of her death as 21 October 1789. Strangely, no burial record for her has been found in Stoneleigh. Was she, in fact, buried elsewhere?
